CASA Staff Profile

Ian Galloway

Year joined: 2017

Reason you joined the board: Everyone should have the same opportunity to prosper. CASA of Oregon’s lending and wealth building programs—not to mention amazing staff—close the opportunity gap by investing in low-income Oregonians. It’s my privilege to serve on the board of an organization that does so much great work across the state of Oregon.

Describe your current/most recent job: I oversee our community development investment center at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco (but based in Portland) and manage our Oregon community development activities. It’s a fun job because I get to help partner organizations achieve their community development goals.

Hobbies: Keeping two small children alive. Golf.

Describe other board experience: I currently serve on the boards of Youth Villages Oregon (advisory; at-risk youth) and Rosewood Initiative (governing; community organizing in East Multnomah County).

Policy and causes you care about most: I care deeply about kids growing up in poverty. If we don’t make them a priority we’re going to blow it.
