Aubrey is thrilled to be part of the Manufactured Housing Cooperative Development Team.  She is excited about this opportunity because it is addressing something that she finds of utmost importance in our communities; stable and secure housing for everyone.

Prior to CASA of Oregon, she was a HUD Certified Housing Counselor and Specialist in Pre-Purchase Counseling at Portland Housing Center, working to provide home ownership to low and moderate-income people and expanding opportunities with focused programs for African Americans and Latinx communities.  Before moving to Aurora, OR, she lived and worked in the Rogue Valley of Southern Oregon for 19 years with different nonprofits serving varied demographics focused on economic stability and access to housing since beginning her professional career in 2006.  She graduated with a BA in Cultural Anthropology and Sociology from Southern Oregon University in 2007. She has worked in post-natural disaster housing stabilization in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina in 2006 and in Southern Oregon and with the  Alameda Fire Recovery efforts in 2020.   She devoted her earlier career to advocating for homeless youth, families, and veterans, and continues her overall commitment to the wellness of historically marginalized and underserved communities through access to resources and housing.

Aubrey is continually inspired by the passion and commitment of community members and colleagues in creating viable, creative solutions to address pressing issues of economic inequality and unequal wealth distribution with a heartfelt belief that all deserve the stabilization and security of calling a place home.  Aubrey is deeply dedicated to this joint effort and teamwork, understanding that housing stability is the knit that makes up the fabric of strong, diverse, and interdependent communities.

Outside of work, Aubrey loves spending time in the mountains or on a river.  She loves the diversity of Oregon and enjoys learning about foraging for edible mushrooms and wildcrafting medicinal plants.  Her cherished time outside of that with her daughter and partner is rafting or kayaking Oregon’s beautiful rivers in the summer.  Yoga, dance, art, and travel are also dear to her heart.
