Madeline Bonkoske joined the CASA team in July of 2021 to provide Technical Assistance to CASA’s cooperatives. Some of Maddie’s duties include: identifying performance and project issues as they arise; negative financial condition or trending, adequacy of reserve funding and implements strategies to correct; overseeing asset management of the cooperative through monitoring compliance with lender requirements, financing documents, regulatory agreements and other sources of financial, statutory and regulatory reporting requirements, including submittal of compliance reporting to investors, lenders, monitoring agencies and other stakeholders; facilitating and managing ongoing board member leadership development and training by attending monthly cooperative board meetings.
Born and raised in Chicago, IL, Maddie recently moved across the country to Portland, OR. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Relational Communication from DePaul University and a Master’s degree in Urban Planning and Policy with a concentration in Community Development from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Prior to working at CASA, Maddie provided Permanent Supportive Housing case management services in Chicago, IL and was also involved in an internship conducting ethnographic research in Rajasthan, India. She also has over a decade of experience in the service industry as a server and bartender.
