Pilar was raised in Wichita, Kansas. She is currently attending Lewis & Clark College, with a double major in International Affairs and World Languages (Spanish and French) and a minor in Latin American Studies. She loves her majors because she is learning about global politics, as well as new cultures. In her spare time, she works closely withLC Inclusion Multicultural Engagement. As the president of the Mixed Race Student Union, she facilitates many dialogues about the complexities of being multiracial in our society.

As a granddaughter of Puerto Rican immigrants, Pilar understands the many obstacles in the way of people building a life here in the United States. She is excited to be part of the California Coalition for Rural Housing internship program hosted in Sherwood, and to be supporting the CASA team as they expand programming in financial education throughout Oregon, specifically in resident-owned Manufactured Housing Communities.

During her free time, she enjoys hiking, cooking, and playing basketball with friends.
