What is an IDA?

An Individual Development Account (IDA) helps you save more toward some of the most important investments you’ll make in your life. Families or individuals with limited financial resources may be eligible to receive matching funds toward an approved purchase.

We have three different IDA programs:

  1. Vida delivers IDAs for homeownership, small businesses, education, and more.
  2. The Matched College Savings Program (MCSP) engages rural high schools and community colleges to make college more affordable for students at participating schools.
  3. The E3 program (Earn, Educate, Empower) offers educational IDAs for under-resourced, low-income and first-generation students of color attending one of the participating private colleges and universities in Oregon.

How Does it Work?

  1. You save $1.
  2. Your IDA program contributes $5 in matching funds—or up to $6 under E3!
  3. You have more savings to reach your goals and use toward your approved purchase!
